I am well aware of the many struggles life can throw at humans in unpredictable ways. In my young years I have suffered from the loss of my family due to fatal accidents.

When I was 8 my father was about to drive with my mother in a car to bring my grandparents, my dad’s parents back to their home. I was supposed to go with them and last minute my father decided me to stay with my brother Sandro. Sandro was 7 years older and I always felt safe with him, and as an 8-year-old I had not much to argue against my father’s decision. A few hours later they had an accident. My mother was the only survivor. Not only couldn’t I understand the tragic at that time, but also did I feel guilty to have survived although I had not caused any of the tragedy. At age 17 we, my mother, my brother and my godfather planned on flying out to Geneva/Switzerland for an extended weekend. I was all excited as I loved to travel, especially with my brother being the pilot flying us around. On that Saturday when we were ready to leave, I had a weird feeling of some unusual stress being in the air. Last minute before departure my mother ordered me to stay at home with her last words that ‘she would hang the family business on an nail’, a German expression meaning that she would hang her gloves or throw in the towel.

Well, long story short, shortly after take-off from Geneva on their way back home to Stuttgart/Germany the following Monday, they crashed. And, again I had survived, being safely at home but unsafely lonely, abandoned, orphaned.

My passion to helping others began much earlier though. As a little girl I had a gift, and that gift would make me survive my own destiny. Turning bad into good, uncertainty into opportunity, tragedy into possibility became my mantra.

Having survived when I supposed to be dead against all odds made me commit my life to helping as many as I possibly could.

Spreading hope, joy and love is my passion, no matter in which area of my life.
